About

Angie O’ Brien

I have been drawing and painting since childhood. In my adult life, I have been an Architect, a Fashion Designer and an Interior Architect all bringing me from Dublin to London, Paris, Berlin and back to Dublin again. Throughout that journey I have retained an interest in Psychology and how we as humans tick. A close friend introduced me to Art Psychotherapy which combines all my interests.

In pursuing my dream I qualified with a first class Honours Masters in Art Psychotherapy  from CIT, Crawford in Cork

In my practice, I utilise all my previous experience drawing from lessons learned as an Architect creating spaces to enhance a living experience, as a Fashion Designer working with fabrics and shapes that embrace the body and communicates the self in a textured language. I am well positioned to see how we can express our struggles and pain through the exercise of making art.

My main interest is in the lives of women and how we navigate life’s ups and downs within ourselves, as well as the challenges we face in the outer world.
